Clifton Ingram advise Lawsons Holdings Limited on its acquisition of Hertfordshire Timber & Building Supplies Limited

Clifton Ingram’s Corporate Partner Barry Niven and Commercial Property Partner Tim Read are delighted to have acted for Lawsons Holdings Limited on its acquisition of Hertfordshire Timber & Building Supplies Limited, a leading supplier of timber, fencing and building products and its subsidiary, Southill Sawmills Limited, its manufacturing arm.

Lawsons is a well–known, respected, family-owned business operating throughout London and the South East and will be celebrating its 100th year of trading this year.

This transaction is part of Lawsons Group continued growth and increases the combined groups turnover to over £145 million, with 650 employees operating from 31 branches across the south east of England. The acquisition is considered a great strategic fit for Lawsons as they look to establish a platform for continued expansion in the fencing and landscaping market and follows a busy trading period resulting from the current demand for materials to improve homes and gardens during the Covid-19 lockdowns. Hertfordshire Timber & Building Supplies Limited will retain its brand identity.
