On Friday 17 April, the Government made two important announcements about the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (the “Scheme”):
- Extension of eligibility for the Scheme to the end of June 2020.
- Much needed clarification on holiday entitlement for furloughed employees. They have confirmed that it is possible for an employee to take annual leave while on furlough. The employer would have to top up the furlough pay to 100% of normal pay for any period of annual leave.
