On 26 September 2016, Clifton Ingram will once again be taking part in the Reading Legal 10km Walk that raises funds for legal advice agencies in Reading and nearby. Last year the walk had over 100 walkers and raised over £8,500 for local agencies.
The charities that will benefit from this year’s walk include:
- FLAG DV provides free legal advice to victims of domestic violence or domestic abuse in and around Reading.
- Reading CAB has been helping people resolve their money, housing, employment, immigration and a range of other problems since 1939.
- Reading Refugee Support Group has been providing practical advice and support for asylum seekers and refugees in Greater Reading for 20 years.
The Legal Walks are organised by London Legal Support Trust, an independent charity that supports the provision of specialist legal advice through law centres, advice agencies and citizens advice bureaux by providing them with grant funding.
Tim Read, Managing Partner of Clifton Ingram said, “The need for free legal advice continues to grow as a result of cuts in legal aid funding and a rise in court fees. We’re glad we can do our bit to help fill in the funding gap and encourage our fellow peers from the legal community to take part.”
The Clifton Ingram team includes partners, solicitors sand support staff from the firm’s Reading and Wokingham offices. To sponsor them please see our fundraising page here.
