Clifton Ingram’s Stephanie Rose achieved a successful outcome to a case which involved a complaint to the Local Government Ombudsman against a Local Authority over care for a vulnerable client.
The Local Authority refused to backdate its contribution towards the client’s care costs and so Clifton Ingram complained to the Ombudsman who agreed with our application and interpretation of the law.
The Local Authority however decided to challenge the Ombudsman’s decision with an unsuccessful application to the High Court for a Judicial Review. The outcome being that the Local Authority agreed to follow the Ombudsman’s recommendation in this case to backdate the care contribution as they should have done.
More details on the case can be found in this published report.
